E-Commerce — Topic-wise Frequency Analysis & Priority List

Based on 5 old question sets. Unit references link to Syllabus.

⚠️ A handful of questions in 2076 — media convergence, I-way, WWW architecture, and "digital documents in corporate library" — don't map cleanly onto any unit in the current Syllabus. The rest of 2076 (digital wallet, EDI, cryptography, e-commerce features) is still fully relevant, so only those specific questions are flagged as legacy/low-priority below.

Study Priority Summary

  1. Master first: Electronic Payment Systems (Unit 3 — digital wallet, credit cards, e-checks, SET), Security threats & mechanisms (Unit 5), Business Models & EDI (Unit 2), Building E-commerce systems/catalogs (Unit 4), and core Introduction concepts — types, features, ETA of Nepal (Unit 1). All five appear in literally every paper.
  2. Then cover: Digital Marketing (Unit 6) and SEO/Recommendation Systems (Unit 7) — both appear in 4 of 5 papers.
  3. Last, if time remains: SET protocol fine details (dual signature, payment authorization/capture), auctioning types, virtual currency, exchanges vs industry consortiums, omni-channel, competitive advantage dimensions — and skip the legacy 2076-only topics unless you have extra time to spare.

Note: Every paper pulls roughly one question from each unit, so the syllabus is tested very evenly — Tier 1 topics simply repeat with slightly different framing each year (e.g. "digital wallet" becomes "SET payment authorization" becomes "dual signature"), so understanding Unit 3 (Electronic Payment Systems) and Unit 5 (Security) deeply will cover a large share of marks regardless of exact phrasing.
